As we peek our heads out from under the bed where we have been hiding the past few months, we discover there are things going on  – good things.  Let’s get to it:

Membership:  We put renewal notices on hold months ago but in spite of that, members still send in their much-needed and much-appreciated dues.  Thank you so much!

Since the creation of the member database, we have added 330 names.  BUT not all have maintained their membership, so our current total is 298.

Speaking of generosity, Greg and Christine Blando sent a hefty $500 donation recently.  Good vibrations, indeed.

In case you have forgotten, we remind you that while you are shopping on Amazon and making Jeff Bezos even  wealthier, consider that the LVJS gets a teensy part of that fortune when you shop using Smile.Amazon.com.

The LVJS call line is up and running again. When you call 702-269-3374, the dulcet tones of Mimi Williams will tell you what you need to know.  Leave your comments and questions and a reply will be forthcoming.

The Summer 2020 Edition of JazzNotes is hot off the press and on the way to you. Included in that are a handful of venues that are currently presenting live music (we say “currently,” because, you know…)  These include:  Bella Vita, El Cortez, Bootlegger Bistro, E-String, Golden Tiki, Ichabod’s, Italian American Club, The Piazza Lounge at the Tuscany Casino, Skyline Casino, and The Vegas Room.  It is highly recommended that you look of the websites or social media sites for up-to-the-minute information.

Also, there are tons of artists, local and world-wide still performing for you.  Start typing names on the aforementioned social media sites and enjoy.

We acknowledge the passing of the great Johnny Mandel.  Judy Tarte’s missive on him can be read here.
