NOTES FROM THE BOARD
Our first “Town Hall” membership meeting of 2019 took place on March 31st at the Bootlegger. We would like to thank everyone that attended and gave feedback. We are optimistic about our future and happy you are a part of it. Let’s keep the conversation going! If you are a member and want your voice heard, please contact us via our hotline, email or mail and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.
As announced at the meeting, we will be bringing back membership cards. Advantages of the new cards will include
discounts on JazzEd and Downbeat magazine subscriptions and select retail establishments and restaurants. If there is a location you would like to see included in this or know of a business that might be interested in becoming a corporate sponsor, please contact us.
We are happy to report that we are utilizing our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status more than ever. LVJS is now listed with Charles Schwab as a music and jazz nonprofit charitable organization, and we have already received our first $500 donation from one of their clients. You can also find us listed on the official Amazon charitable organization list. Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice. AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know. Same products, same prices, same service. Support the LVJS by starting your shopping at smile.amazon.com and follow the online instructions.
A reminder to High School and College students: The deadline for our scholarships is coming up so please submit your applications to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We thank the members for their ongoing support and look forward to growing and preserving this organization going forward.
HAVE YOU RENEWED YOUR MEMBERSHIP?
Per policy, memberships not being renewed within 60 days of expiration will be deactivated from notification and discounts.
